Thick, soft, and warm. My husband thought it was merino wool when we first got it. I've not found another cotton blanket anywhere of this quality, but do wash it per the instructions! Dissolve the detergent in the machine BEFORE adding the blanket or it will not rinse out well because the blanket is so densely woven. LINE DRY. I made the mistake of washing and drying it before reading the instructions because, well, it's a cotton blanket. I've washed other cotton blankets a hundred times before. Now our $100 twin blanket is a nice sized throw :( . It also pilled up a bit. I really like this blanket, but would LOVE it if the care was not so fussy--it is just cotton, after all, not wool. That's why I went with cotton. If I wanted something so fussy, I would have bought a wool blanket. But it IS right there on the tag, so this gets 4 stars.
