Purchased for a 1920s stand-alone pedestal bathtub - curved rod section is sturdy, but straight bar is in two parts w/ a 6" interior piece to connect them - result is a flimsy dip in the straight section of the rod which we had to back w/ a piece of plywood screwed to the wall to hold a curved pipe clamp supporting the join in the rod....not aesthetically pleasing (:-(
