This is a well built sturdy stainless steel stockpot. It is made in China,(the one I received is labeled Thunder Group), but it is very sturdy, heavy gauge steel and seems to be quality materials. I also have a 40 qt stockpot that I purchased off Amazon Winware Stainless Steel 40 Quart Stock Pot with Cover and other than the size, these pots are almost identical. They have the same kinds of handels, rivets, base, welds, lid, same thickness and same quality of materials. I also purchased an 8 Quart Update International SPS-8 SuperSteel 18/8 Stainless Steel Induction Ready Stock Pot with Cover, 8-Quart, Natural off amazon and although it has no rivets, the design/construction/quality is otherwise very similar as well. I am convinced at this point that most of the "NSF certified" stainless steel stock pots for sale here on Amazon are all made in the same factory in China, so search "NSF Stock pot" and pick the cheapest one that is the right size for you. I only purchased this one because it was much cheaper because it had a small dent. By the way, if a stockpot sold on Amazon is labeled "Used" it probably means it just has a small dent, even if it just says "Item comes repakaged". I have bought all three of the above listed stockpots "Used" off Amazon, and this has been the case for all three. I have also saved nearly $100 this way.As of now I have only done a few boils in this pot, but it seems like it will last a lifetime and that it will stand up to plenty of abuse. I have been using it recently to boil maple sap off on top of a woodstove with open flame.

I bought one cheapo stockpot off Amazon a while back that got a hole in it right away! I gave that a bad review. It was not NSF and obviously made cheaply when compared side by side. If you have to buy china made cookware, buy NSF listed stuff, it is better and it is worth the extra money.
